CBM (或立方米) 是发货人和承运人使用的国际标准来计算LCL货物的运价。一立方就是一米高一米宽一米深的货物。为了计算要采用公尺制乘以三个方面的尺寸。比方说有一个纸箱0.6米 高，0.4米宽，1米深，那他的体积大概是0.24cbm. 一个立方即大概是35立方迟。
关于空运，空运承运人一般使用运价的标准是公斤。为了避免清货运价计算的问题，容积重量(volume weight)可使用。公式是如下: 高度（公分） X 宽度 （公分）X 深度（公分）/ 6000 = 容积重量 。那如果有清货,它的体积是一个立方米而重量少于166公斤，它的的运价按166公斤来计算的。
